I love my Fluval Edge but I now have issues with my light unit ! My lights wouldnt work so i bought new bulbs thinking they were blown out and when i replaced them they still wouldnt work. i had called the manufactor ”Hagen” and told them about the problem and they were happy to replace my light unit at no charge! I just got the new light unit in today and hooked it up and it worked for about an hour and now the lights are out again ! i cant understand whats going on !!! Any one else having the same issue ???

I haven’t had any issues with my light not working, however, one thing you could try is a bigger light bulb, if you have two light units. I would get try it on your old light unit first because after you use the bigger light bulbs you can’t use the smaller ones again because it stretches out the holes where the bulbs plug into. Basically if you get an MR16 halogen bulb instead of the MR11 that is usually used in the fluval edge you can get it to fit and it provides a little more light.

I wonder if using a bigger light might give you a better connection because the prongs are a little bit bigger, its worth a try if you have two light units at least, hopefully it helps

I went through the same thing. I bought 2 Edge units, and after about a month, both lighting units stopped working. Hagen replaced them free of charge, but now my bulbs keep blowing out…

do not fit larger bulbs they will consume more current and burn your unit out only fit good quality led bulbs which will only consume milliamps make sure they are waterproof

my edge tank has been ok. i had my glass heater from my old tank and so i kind of installed it and it works perfect. My lights have been fine alothough the filter sometimes takes ages to fill itself up and start. if you need a good heater i would surgest my aquael 100w one its about 1yr old and fine.

I have a Fluval Edge and have had the same problem. Light fixture went after about 8 months of use and Fluval sent a new one. The new one worked for about 2 hours. When the fixture goes, it blows the bulbs, too.

My fixture came with halogen bulbs – does anyone know if I can replace them with LED bulbs? Do these do any better? Are they ok for planted aquariums?
